Slip resistance testing measures the coefficient of friction of flooring surfaces to AS 4586 and AS 4663. It determines a surface's P-rating (P1–P5), indicating its safety under wet conditions. Our NATA-certified reports are accepted by courts, insurers, and building certifiers across Australia.
Yes. Sliptest Australia holds NATA Accreditation No. 15374, continuously accredited since 2006. We operate 1 NATA-accredited laboratory in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. All reports are NATA-certified and accepted by courts, insurers and government authorities.
Reports are delivered within 24 hours of the site visit as standard — for both on-site wet pendulum testing (AS 4663) and construction handover testing (AS 4586). Luminance contrast reports are typically delivered within 24–48 hours.
P-ratings classify a surface's slip resistance from P1 (low resistance, dry areas only) to P5 (very high resistance, required for high-risk wet areas such as pool surrounds). Most commercial floor areas require P3 or P4 under the National Construction Code. Our reports state the measured P-rating and advise on compliance requirements.

Yes. Our NATA-certified reports are court-accepted and our team provides expert witness services for slip and fall litigation, insurance claims and legal disputes. Reports are prepared to the standard required by Australian courts and expert witness testimony is available.
We test to AS 4586 (classification of new pedestrian surface materials), AS 4663 (existing pedestrian surfaces), AS 1428.1 (luminance contrast, accessibility), Q704, MRTS45 and AS 4049.4 for road and skid resistance testing.
